Well I'm not sure if SAI can do this, but in Photoshop you can select an area very precisely, maybe you could try that? Or you could always put a border around it when your done and erase the excess.

Sounds like you're talking about vector art, which I would say no thanks too because that's more tedious than pen/tablet. I think I'll just do a bit more research on the subject.

Behold the Pegasus warrior class. I usually use my tablet and make lots of strokes in a general direction, and generally work them outwards, and backwards in a series of lines until it fits the look. I hope that makes a little sense. Looks cool as is though!

I was thinking of doing zigzags and hatches. I guess the problem is that I'm not sure what colors to use when and where, and how much of a stroke.

You already do really nice contours for your shapes, try that for your hair texture. Throw in all your blobs of lights and darks (variations of pink?) and work them out in long curving strokes, like a pulled out S or C. Then later add some soft yellows or near other darker non-pink blobs and pull them out the same way, so it all blends.

I'm assuming your using SAI's brush tool though. It seems to work very well.

Anyways that's my advice. Hope it helps!

Yes I'm using Sai. The difference between your style and my style is that you don't draw outlines which would have an effect on the texture. Thanks for the tips, though.
